In Barcelona, Manuela crosses paths with a colorful group of women: Rosa (Penélope Cruz), a young nun pregnant with Lola’s child and HIV-positive; Agrado (Antonia San Juan), a sharp-witted trans sex worker and loyal friend; and Huma Rojo (Marisa Paredes), an aging stage actress performing the same play that Esteban loved.
