In Season 4, Bellick completes one of the most shocking redemptions in TV history. The former bully is now a sad, overweight momma’s boy just trying to survive. Williams plays Bellick’s vulnerability beautifully—right up to the season’s most devastating moment. The New Faces of Season 4 Michael Rapaport as Don Self Love him or hate him, Rapaport brings chaotic energy. Self is the Homeland Security agent who assembles the team to steal Scylla—only to reveal he’s actually a traitor. His whiny betrayal and eventual fate (hello, locked-in syndrome) make him a memorable wildcard.
Linc remains the muscle and the heart. While Michael plans, Lincoln throws the punches. Season 4 gives Purcell a bit more emotional range as Lincoln struggles with the guilt of what his exoneration has cost his brother.
Arguably the best performance of the season. Fichtner transforms Mahone from a terrifying FBI nemesis into a broken, brilliant ally. Watching Mahone detox from drugs while using his profiling skills to help the team is riveting. His arc with Wyatt is one of the season’s highlights.
Sara is back (after a controversial off-screen "death"). She is tougher and darker now, hardened by her torture at the hands of The Company. Her relationship with Michael is no longer innocent flirtation; it’s a trauma-bonded, life-or-death partnership.
