A man sat alone in a cavernous office. Dark wood, no windows. A single desk lamp cast a cone of light onto his hands. He wore a black suit, no tie. His face was lean, tired, with deep-set eyes that seemed to look past the camera.

He hadn’t turned it on.

He looked at the file again. This time, he noticed something he’d missed: the file size was exactly 444 MB. And the thumbnail image wasn’t a frame from the episode. It was a photo of a desk lamp. The same one from the scene.

Alex leaned closer.

And reflected in the lamp’s base, faintly: a person holding a camera. Wearing a black suit. No tie.
