Abstract The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) Micromasters in Analytics, offered in partnership with edX, represents a paradigm shift in online graduate education. This paper examines the program’s structure, pedagogical approach, credit articulation pathways, and its role as a precursor to the full Online Master of Science in Analytics (OMSA). It analyzes how the Micromasters serves as a low-risk, high-flexibility on-ramp to a top-ten ranked analytics degree, addressing barriers of cost, admissions selectivity, and geographical constraints. The paper concludes with a critical assessment of outcomes, challenges, and implications for the future of credentialing in higher education. 1.
