The man returned the next day and asked again, and the Prophet gave the same answer. He then added: "If you are granted Al-'Afiyah in this world and the next, you have truly succeeded." While the original is in Arabic, the power of the dua lies in the conviction behind it. Here is the full text, transliteration, and translation.

In the vast tapestry of Islamic spirituality, certain supplications (duas) carry a heavier weight of sanctity due to their source. Among the most profound is a collection of phrases often referred to as the "Jibreel Dua" — a short but comprehensive prayer reportedly taught directly by the Archangel Jibreel (Gabriel) to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

It is a whispered reminder that the greatest wealth is not money, but safety; not power, but health; and not fame, but forgiveness. Recite it today, and secure the protection of the Most Merciful from all directions.

O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me. And I seek refuge in Your Greatness from being struck down from beneath me. The Wisdom of the Final Phrase Scholars often highlight the unique ending of this dua: "…from being struck down from beneath me." When the Prophet explained this, the companions asked, "What does being struck down from beneath mean?" The Prophet replied: "Sudden calamities, being swallowed by the earth (sinkholes), and evil plots."
