The hero is Ulises Vidal , a lazy, cynical, and cowardly Seville-based contractor who has gone bankrupt due to the 2008–2014 Spanish financial crisis . Plot Summary After losing everything because of bad investments and the economic crash, Ulises tries to sail his small boat from Seville to a music festival in Cádiz to forget his troubles. However, a freak storm (sent by a modern "Poseidon" in the form of an angry banker whose money Ulises lost) wrecks his boat.
