Playtoy Sweetie [exclusive] May 2026
The toy itself is lightweight but not cheap-feeling. The outer material is a short, soft plush that resists light crumbs and dust (important for any toy that will inevitably end up on a living room floor). The stitching is secure, though a few loose threads were noticeable around the ear area on my unit — nothing a quick snip couldn’t fix. The “Sweetie” comes in three variants: Bunny, Kitty, and Puppy. I tested the Bunny version (soft cream with blush-pink inner ears). Playtoy Sweetie’s main selling point is its responsive touch system . It has five touch zones: head, left ear, right ear, belly, and back. Each zone triggers a different reaction — giggling, singing a short lullaby, asking for a hug, or making cute animal sounds. The responses are randomized enough that my 4-year-old niece didn’t get bored after an hour of play.

The included quick-start guide is refreshingly simple — just two panels of illustrations. No confusing 20-page manual. playtoy sweetie
There’s also a when you hold Sweetie against your chest — a surprisingly effective emotional touch. It’s subtle, not mechanical-sounding. When you stop holding the toy close, it emits a soft sad tone after about 20 seconds, encouraging the child to “reassure” it. This feature is clearly designed to teach empathy, and it worked well in our testing. The toy itself is lightweight but not cheap-feeling
