Mira wasn’t a jock or a popular kid. She was the one who could rewire a drone controller into a lockpick, who’d mapped the school’s network in her head like a subway system. Vex pulled the hard drive. He wrote a referral. He banned Mira from all school technology for the rest of the year. Leo got off with a warning because he cried convincingly.
“It’s alive,” Leo breathed.
