Overview SoftEther VPN (Software Ethernet) is a free, open-source, multi-protocol VPN solution developed by Prof. Daiyuu Nobori and the University of Tsukuba, Japan. Initially an academic project to overcome the limitations of existing VPNs (especially in restrictive networks like China), it has grown into one of the most powerful and flexible VPN software packages available today.
