For the uninitiated, a "workprint" is the rough-cut version of an episode. Think of it as the uncut diamond before the jeweler (the editor, sound mixer, and colorist) polishes it. And the copy of The Bay S03E05 currently making the rounds on private trackers and obscure forums is a fascinating, messy time capsule. If you pull up the official broadcast version of this episode (titled "Skeletons" ), you get a tight 22-minute thriller. The workprint, however, clocks in at nearly 31 minutes.
