After accidentally killing a girl and being unable to preserve her scent, he apprentices under a fading perfumer (Dustin Hoffman) to learn distillation and fat-rendering techniques. He then travels to Grasse (the perfume capital of France) where he murders 25 women to extract their essences, creating the ultimate “divine perfume” that can control anyone’s emotions—including love and hatred.
