Victor Manibo is a Filipino American writer of speculative fiction and young adult novels. He is best known for his debut science fiction thriller, (2022), which presents a near-future world where a segment of the population has lost the ability to sleep—gaining extra waking hours but facing new social and psychological fractures. The novel follows journalist Jamie Vega, who investigates a suspicious death while grappling with his own sleeplessness and corporate corruption.
Manibo’s writing often explores themes of memory, identity, labor, and the unintended consequences of technological or biological shifts.
