Barry, ever the loyal sidekick, whispered, "Frank, they’re bored. They miss the fear. They miss the chase." The problem was purpose

It started with the apples. A sect of Granny Smiths argued that non-consumption was a sin. "We are born to be eaten!" they cried, hurling themselves into a bonfire. Then the milk cartons went sour with depression. Finally, a band of nihilistic Twinkies declared that if they weren't going to be eaten, they might as well expire on their own terms, leading to a sticky, cream-filled riot.
