Why Does Day And Night Occur Now

Day and night occur because Earth rotates on its axis, an imaginary line running from the North Pole to the South Pole. As Earth spins eastward, only half of the planet faces the Sun at any given time. The side facing the Sun experiences daylight, while the opposite side is in shadow, experiencing night. This rotation takes about 24 hours to complete, creating the regular cycle of day and night. Without this spin, one side of Earth would always face the Sun (permanent day) and the other eternal night, making life as we know it impossible.
