Sheldon's mother, Mary, tries to get him to participate in a local basketball game, but he's more interested in reading about ancient history. Meanwhile, Sheldon's father, George, tries to fix a broken toilet at the church, but his DIY approach causes more problems. As Sheldon navigates his relationships with his family and friends, he also gets into a dispute with his teacher, Mr. Gomer, over the accuracy of a historical film.
