Mary eventually compromises: Sheldon can return to Sunday school if he agrees to one question per lesson and writes his other questions in a notebook for Pastor Jeff to answer later. Mr. Finley apologizes for the closet. Sheldon says, "Don’t. I derived the prime number distribution of dust motes in there. It was productive."
Mary declares the game "ungodly" and bans it. Meemaw rolls her eyes. Missy, for the first time, openly sides with Meemaw: "Mom, you let Sheldon watch Star Trek and there’s a guy with actual goat legs." young sheldon s03e02 bd5
Meanwhile, Meemaw (Connie) invites Missy and Georgie over for game night. She pulls out Monopoly . Missy loves it. Georgie cheats immediately. But Meemaw has a twist: a homemade expansion board she calls "Hell’s Monopoly" — complete with spaces like "Indulgence Tax," "The Inquisition Railroad," and a Chance card that reads: "You’ve been accused of witchcraft. Go directly to the stake. Do not pass Heaven. Do not collect 200 indulgences." Mary eventually compromises: Sheldon can return to Sunday
"It’s a jester , Mary. With horns. And a trident. It’s festive." Sheldon says, "Don’t
George closes his eyes. "That’s fine."
George Sr. tries to watch football. But between Mary’s crusade against the Monopoly board, Sheldon’s banishment to the broom closet, and Missy now asking if she can "worship the flying spaghetti monster," he finally snaps. He drives to the church, finds Sheldon still in the closet (now diagramming the floorplan to maximize storage efficiency), and simply sits down next to him.
Missy gets to play "Hell’s Monopoly" with Meemaw — but only on Saturdays, and Mary tapes a cross to the board’s underside. Georgie goes bankrupt almost immediately but steals $500 from the bank when no one’s looking. Meemaw notices, winks, and says nothing.
